Last, April 26, 2014 three NYT bestselling authors came to visit the Philippines and meet their fans, Tahereh Mafi, Veronica Rossi and Ransom Riggs. This was made possible by National Bookstore and was held at Glorietta Activity Center. At first, I was really giddy to come and meet them because Shatter Me series really affected my heart and soul(LOL), but there was a moment when I felt lazy and decided nah, never mind. But after a twitter party with these super friendly blogger friends(which I haven’t met in person at that time, EVER), I decided to go. I was very excited because it will be a big first time for me and I was really looking forward to meeting these authors and some friends too.

Hey! #2: Meeting Awesome People
If you know me personally, you’d know that I am a little bit timid and it’s hard for me to start a conversation. But sometimes I am quite talkative especially when it comes to books, Asian dramas and tv shows. I had gain some friends online because of fangirling and it’s fun because you meet people here and there. It helps that we only talk online because it’s easier, you get it right?

Review: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
![]() |
| Amazon / Goodreads |
Author: Tahereh Mafi
Series: Shatter Me #1
Genre: Young Adult, Science Fiction, Dystopia, Romance, Fantasy, Post Apocalyptic
Format: Paperback, 338 pages
Source: bought from Powerbooks
Synopsis:
Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

Hey! #1: How Often Do You Buy Books?
I want to start a new series on my blog where I rant or maybe share or ask related or non related things about books. It’s not a review and it’s kind of a personal view on some things related to being a reader or someone who blogs about books.
So my first question is, “How often do you buy books?”
